Changes are Coming: Bike-Friendly Improvements in Woodland

Those in Yolo County are familiar with the bike-friendly town of Davis, known for its bike loop, greenbelt paths, and copious bike lanes. Davis has always been synonymous with the bicycle. In recent years, however, Davis’ neighbor to the north, Woodland, the county seat of Yolo, has been taking the opportunity to provide bike-friendly improvements throughout town that will make riding to school and work, and for pleasure, a whole lot easier and safer. And with gas prices at a record high, riding a bike is not just an enjoyable adventure, but an economically smart one too. So, Woodlanders, grab your helmet and hop on two wheels! Changes are coming.

The Woodland Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the official launch of our reimagined Business Advocacy & Public Policy Committee. This Committee will meet bi-monthly to discuss current business and public policy issues affecting our members and Woodland Businesses and bring informed speakers to our membership meetings that will take place on the alternate months.

The First Membership Meeting of 2023 will be on February 1st

Our first Membership Meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at noon at the Chamber Office, 400 Court Street. This meeting is free to all Chamber members and is designed to be an open discussion with our staff, fellow members, business and community leaders and other professionals and experts in the determined topic. 


As an answer to recent surveys completed by our members and Woodland business owners, we have invited Chief Derrek Kaff and Sergeant Victoria Danzl to our first meeting to respond to concerns surrounding increasing crime and safety matters that affect your business. We encourage all members to attend.

Rational Unicorn Legal Services Presents The More You Glow Seminar Series

The first two seminars of The More You Glow series this year will cover a variety of topics to help your small business. Both will be held on Zoom and use a "pay what you can" community pricing model ($5, $10, or $20) so that they are accessible to everyone. The first seminar will be Wednesday, January 18th at 5 p.m. and will cover the basics of entity formation as well as how to refocus your existing business. You can register on eventbrite here.


The second seminar will be Wednesday, January 25th also at 5 p.m. with Carla Titus from Wealth Worth Within and Ronesha Hayes from Hayes Consulting and Coaching. The Small Business Association is Assisting with Disaster Relief Loans

Low-interest federal disaster loans are now available to California businesses and residents as a result of President Biden’s major disaster declaration, U.S. Small Business Administration’s Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman announced.


If your home or business has been damaged or destroyed by federally declared disaster, you may be eligible for an SBA disaster assistance loan. These long-term, low-interest loans are available to businesses of all sizes, private non-profit organizations, homeowners, and renters to repair or replace uninsured/underinsured disaster damaged property. Economic injury assistance is available to businesses regardless of any property damage.
